Mission

The Inn at Mazama is, in fact, total freedom. The freedom to improvise and do exactly what you want, or absolutely nothing. Our lodging is designed around flexibility, always ready to listen to your desires. Whether you are coming to switch off and unwind, ski your heart out or find an inspiring place to work, the Inn's special atmosphere and natural surroundings will inspire.

The Inn at Mazama is for anyone who wants to recharge, relax and reconnect with what matters most.

To inspire escape from the everyday. To provoke experiences that rejuvenate. To spark lasting connection with nature, one's self, and each other.
To make first tracks and lasting memories.

History

The Inn at Mazama's story begins...at the end of the road...when at first it was nothing more than a pit-stop and a few log cabins. Mazama boomed at the beginning of the twentieth century as the departure point for miners headed to Hart's Pass. Mazama stayed a sleepy "town" with only a general store for decades until the Mazama Country Inn was built in 1984.

Catering then to those first cross country skiers and backcountry mountain enthusiasts, the Inn was functional and funky. Now the whole Mazama community is an enclave of stunning architecture and guests from all over the world. The Inn at Mazama responds to the sophisticated changes of the area while retaining its history, original charm and hub status for all things outdoors in the Methow.

On the Horizon

If you're curious, we invite you to join us as we embark on several restoration projects over the next few years that will celebrate the Inn's heritage and natural setting, while introducing new modern elements of sophistication, adventure and relaxation. Credit to Renée Marquardt and Grace Schlitt, architects, for their confluence of design expertise.

We will be rejuvenating each guest room in the Main Lodge, Cedar Lodge and Pine Lodge. Rooms will be updated to preserve their natural charm as we add new modern elements and hints of luxury juxtaposed with the rugged outdoors. We’ll be adding new kitchenettes in several rooms, new flooring, furniture, linens and décor.

The Loft above the dining room will be reimagined with all new flooring, finishes, lighting, furnishings and décor, beckoning a night cap. The Back Porch will become a hub of energy, a place to gather outdoors all times of day and for all seasons.

We’ll be adding a new activity center and comfort station where guests can gather year-round before heading out on the trails to bike, hike, ski, snowshoe or just stroll. This new station will be located right on the trail system so you can wax up, warm up, or level up as you take to the trails throughout the Methow Valley, literally right from your back door.

When all play and no work is not an option, we’ll have you covered. With high speed internet and private office spaces coming online for rent just steps from your room, you’ll be able to show up well to that remote meeting at 9AM and still be on the trails by Noon.

Our flexible meeting center will be perfect for all sorts of meeting needs, from corporate offsites to yoga retreats. Against the backdrop of the gorgeous and inspiring Mazama landscape, we’ll have multiple meeting areas from which to choose, supported by a full kitchen as well as catering options provided by the Inn.

We’ll be resurfacing the outdoor pool and sprucing up the landscaping and patio furnishings to transform this outdoor space into a refreshing oasis to be enjoyed during our hot Mazama summers. Adjacent to the pool, we’ll be appointing a new space to gather and watch your favorite sports activities on large screen TVs from leather couches by an indoor fireplace, all year round.

We dream of a day post-COVID when the restaurant will be transformed into an indoor-outdoor gathering spot within the valley, where one can ski or bike up for a scrumptious charcuterie board and glass of wine, or a slice of artisan pizza and a delicious local brew. We can’t wait to see people gathered around the iconic fireplace once again. We’ll share more plans for the restaurant’s transformation after we get through this era of COVID uncertainty.

I had a wonderful retreat and stay at The Inn. I love The Inn and everything was excellent. It was very clear that everything was done to protect guests with the pandemic happening. Customer service was top notch. I will absolutely be coming back.

I stayed here for five nights just before Christmas (arrived on the 20th, left on the 25th). I came for the XC skiing, which was very enjoyable, but the thing that has stayed with me was the wonderful interactions I had with the other people staying there! Between family-style meals and relaxing around the fireplace, it's easy to strike up a conversation, and so many people I met were just great! Many told me that they come for Christmas every year, have a reunion with other repeat guests, and book their return trip when they check out. I can see why!
